CANADA’S LARGEST SURFING COMPETITION COMES TO TOFINO ON MAY 31  May 23, 2014, Vancouver, B.C.—The search for Canada’s top surfing talent is on as surfers compete for more than $25,000 in cash and prizes at the 8th Annual Rip Curl Pro Tofino presented by Monster Energy. The event runs May 31-June 1 at Cox Bay in Tofino, British Columbia. The Rip Curl Pro Tofino is recognized by the Canadian Surfing Association as the national surfing championship. Surfers will compete in nine divisions, including Pro Men, Pro Women, Longboard and Juniors. Defending champion of the 2013 Rip Curl Pro Tofino, Peter Devries, said, “We have a lot of great surfers in Canada and none of us compete; Canadian surfers are lacking experience in terms of competition. Basic Standup Paddleboard and Advanced Flatwater Instructor Course The Paddle Canada Basic Standup Paddleboard Instructor  and Advanced Flatwater Instructor Courses are comprehensive 2 day courses with Tofino Paddle Surf in Tofino, BC. It is designed to provide a national certification for paddle board instruction. This 2 day course teaches paddleboard instructors the skills and knowledge required to teach Paddle Canada Basic Standup Paddleboard and Advanced Flatwater SUP courses. We spend time working on advanced flat water skills and knowledge, group management, teaching theory, course planning, and help you develop and organize your own course cirriculum and offer time to practice your teaching skills. As a Certified Paddle Canada Advanced Flatwater Instructor and a Paddle Canada member you will also be covered by Paddle Canada’s 3rd party liability insurance.
