Private scenic guided evening paddle on the calm coastal waters of Mackenzie Beach
Join us for a guided relaxing and scenic sunset paddle at Mackenzie Beach. This tour is an excellent way to wind down and finish your day in Tofino. Includes instruction.
Tofino Paddle Surf is dedicated to exclusively offering private lessons. Our lessons cater to individuals, families or groups looking for more attention and time on the water. From arriving at our shop (with loads of parking) until the end of the lesson, you will receive one on one attention from your instructor. The lesson is tailored to you and your surfing experience with no need for the generic instruction and chaos of big group lessons
Our instructors are passionate about standup paddleboarding and experienced with teaching all levels and ages.
We recommend booking these lessons in advance. If you have more than 6 people in your group, please contact us directly as discounted rates apply. Multi-lesson discounts are also available.
Requirements
We highly recommend that participants are able to swim, though it’s not required. For group tours, participants must be at least 14 years old. No experience necessary.

Our guides are CPR and Paddle Canada Certified.
This lesson is also available as a private/family tour. The age limit does not apply to private tours. For groups of 6 or more please contact us.
All equipment and wetsuit rental is included in the price.
Ample free parking is available right by our shop.
Please bring your bathing suit, towel, sunscreen, a hat and straps for your glasses if necessary.
Tours can be customized for different skill levels.

This daily tour includes basic paddleboard instruction. The emphasis is on getting you prepared for your own future paddle adventures within the safe, calm bay of Mackenzie Beach.. Expect to learn lots of new skills and safety knowledge all while enjoying the sunset from your board paddling or taking breaks and photos. Your guide can snap some shots for you!
We have a maximum of six people per instructor meaning that you’ll get the best customized expert instruction and guidance. Your own Paddle Canada Certification is available on request.

All our tours take place within the incredibly beautiful Clayoquot Sound. This area was designated as a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 2000 for its biological diversity and is the ancestral territory of the Tla-o-qui-aht First Nations.
While here on the sound keep your eyes out for a whole host of wildlife, such as grey whales, orcas, porpoises, seals, sea lions, otters, bald eagles and more!

The safety of yourself and others is our top priority every time you enter the water. We want everyone to have an enjoyable experience out on the water and will set you up for success. There is a required safety briefing which we complete for every tour and rental that covers equipment use, safety and weather conditions.
