Hang 21 Tofino Recap: Surfing, Family Fun & Community – Sept 2024

Hang 21 returned to Tofino on September 21, 2024, bringing an unforgettable day of surf, boogie boarding, and beachside fun for all ages. Hang 21 is an event created by the Greater Victoria Down Syndrome Society to bring families together in Tofino for a weekend of surf lessons, social interaction and networking.

Thanks to an incredible team of volunteer instructors from local surf schools and the entire Tofino Paddle Surf team, participants had the chance to ride the waves, learning new skills and building confidence under one-on-one guidance. Families, caregivers, and friends joined in, creating a supportive and joyful atmosphere where everyone could dive into the experience together. Huge gratitude to Anne at Pacific Rim Event Planning for bringing this vision to life and making it an amazing day for all involved!
