Vancouver Island SUP series

This is the fifth year of Vancouver Island’s first Stand Up Paddle Board Race Series. This unique event features three stops around Vancouver Island, British Columbia: Victoria, Tofino and Comox. The fun and fast growing sport of Stand Up Paddle Boarding is showcased at each location with off the beach sprint races, fun relays and long distance courses. The beach culture side of each event includes a BBQ, music, MC judging booth, demos for the public and information on new water sports products. The Surf SUP event team provides a fun and safe environment for all levels from first time SUPers to advanced riders. Come join us and make the Island Series part of your vacation plans!

August 10-11 Comox: Waterman Festival
  • Categories include: Groms (6-12), Youth (13-18), Womens, Mens and White Tops (55+)
  • Board Categories: Surf 12’2”<, 12.6, 14’
  • On-site board rental available on first-come, first-serve basis
Registration Fees (PER EVENT)
  • Adult: includes two races, BBQ and prizes         $65
  • Adult: includes one race and prizes                   $40
  • Groms/Youth: Includes races, BBQ and prizes $30
  • BBQ only $5 for competitors, $10 for non-competitors*
*Tofino will have a luau rather than a BBQ. Please contact for pricing information.
A NOTE FOR ALL EVENTS. Extra BBQ tickets may be purchase on the day of the event. There are great prizes to be won and always a good draw so get involved! For the the Tofino event please book early if you are staying at the host resorts hotel. They are giving us great event accommodation prices but they are limited. BOOK EARLY.

Stop #2: Tin Wis Resort, Tofino

Canada’s 1st Surf race is back in Tofino this year, promising a bigger and better event. With huge positive feedback from last years’ event, the Surf SUP crew is stocked to be offering a bigger party, and more exciting events over two days hosted in the nation’s beautiful Surf Capital. The Tin Wis Resort, located right on the beach, will be the host for this one of a kind event in western Canada. At the height of the season this is definitely a date you’re going to want on your calendar, so book fast! When booking remember to tell them that your booking is for the SUP SERIES! This race will be featuring the California battle of the paddle surf-style race. Mackenzie beach, with it’s gentle summer surf, is the perfect place for this new style of race and will add to the excitement without intimidating new SUP surf racers.

Schedule:  July 20th & 21st

Saturday:

11am – 3pm New Long Distance Adventure

7pm – 11pm SUPers party and luau at Tin Wis

Sunday :

11am Short Course, groms and Relays

3pm Awards at Tin Wis
