Introductory Paddle Around Tofino’s Calm Inlets

Join us for a paddle boarding tour around Tofino’s protected and calm inlet areas with one of our expert guides. It’s the perfect way to experience the wildlife, scenery, and the excitement of paddleboarding in this unique and inspiring ecosystem. It’s also excellent for getting you on the water for the first or tenth time. This tour is the perfect stepping stone to becoming a confident and accomplished paddler.

We highly recommend that participants are able to swim, though it’s not required. For group tours, participants must be at least 14 years old. No experience necessary.

All our guides are CPR and Paddle Canada Certified.

This lesson is also available as a private/family tour. The age limit does not apply to private tours. For groups of 6 or more please contact us.

All equipment and wetsuit rental is included in the price.

Ample free parking is available right by our shop.

Please bring your bathing suit, towel, sunscreen, a hat and straps for your glasses if necessary.

Please arrive at the shop at least 10 minutes before your scheduled tour.

Online bookings are available March 1st to October 31st. Contact us for scheduling November 1st to February 28th.

Expect to paddle through the unique Botanical Gardens alongside our experienced guides. Whether it’s your first or tenth time on the water, you can expect to feel confident paddling while taking in the incredible surroundings. By the end of this tour you’ll have learnt new skills and paddling techniques. You’ll also know more about the ecosystem and wildlife we’re lucky to paddle though. We have a maximum of six people per instructor meaning that you’ll get the best expert instruction and guidance. Your own Paddle Canada Certification is available on request.

The Tofino Botanical Gardens has entered a new phase of life. The 10-acre site has transferred ownership to MakeWay’s IPCA Innovation Program. MakeWay is a national charitable organization whose mandate is “nature and communities thriving together.” Much of the vision for the Tofino Botanical Gardens, established in 1997 by previous owner George Patterson, will be maintained. Programming, however, will shift to a focus on Indigenous-led conservation. Visit them online here.

This tour is all about learning new skills while having fun and experiencing the spectacular surrounding nature. Tofino’s protected, calm inlet areas of Clayoquot Sound offer amazing wildlife and scenery. Keep your eyes out for some local wildlife species, you could spot eagles, wolves and bears! Take a moment to appreciate the local fauna and flora as you paddle over the mudflats.

The safety of yourself and others is our top priority every time you enter the water. We want everyone to have an enjoyable experience out on the water and will set you up for success. There is a required safety briefing which we complete for every tour and rental that covers equipment use, safety and weather conditions.
