The fun, competitive event invites talented and committed standup paddle surfers in Canada and beyond to shred the waves in Tofino on October 25 & 26, 2014. Qualifying surfers are stoked, educated, and part of our epic and growing international SUP community! The Tofino Paddle Surf SUP Invitational will run as a two day event in Tofino, using a classic heat/judging panel format, and have open pro men’s, amateur and a women’s divisions, for this year’s contest. WEDNESDAYS 8pm – 9pm (Aug 13 through September 24)   A Standup Paddle Board is an amazing and sustainable way to travel and fish. During late summer, enjoy a new way to fish from your paddleboard. When the salmon are jumping in the bay at sunset, there’s no rush like catching a salmon from your SUP. Fishing Evenings: WEDNESDAYS 8pm – 9pm (Aug 13 through September 24) Price: $15.00 + GST Includes: Board & paddle. Wetsuits can be rented at an additional cost of $10 + GST (includes boots). The fun and fast growing sport of Stand Up Paddle Boarding is showcased at each location with off the beach sprint races, fun relays and long distance courses. The beach culture side of each event includes a BBQ, music, MC judging booth, demos for the public and information on new water sports products. CANADA’S LARGEST SURFING COMPETITION COMES TO TOFINO ON MAY 31  May 23, 2014, Vancouver, B.C.—The search for Canada’s top surfing talent is on as surfers compete for more than $25,000 in cash and prizes at the 8th Annual Rip Curl Pro Tofino presented by Monster Energy. The event runs May 31-June 1 at Cox Bay in Tofino, British Columbia. The Rip Curl Pro Tofino is recognized by the Canadian Surfing Association as the national surfing championship. Surfers will compete in nine divisions, including Pro Men, Pro Women, Longboard and Juniors. Defending champion of the 2013 Rip Curl Pro Tofino, Peter Devries, said, “We have a lot of great surfers in Canada and none of us compete; Canadian surfers are lacking experience in terms of competition.
