Canadian Surfers of All Ages and Abilities Rallied Together This Past Weekend for a Beach Cleanup, Surf Lessons and Surf Contest Wednesday June 26, 2013 – On Sunday, June 23rd, the ROXY Salt Shaker event rallied surfers, beach goers and curious onlookers to celebrate International Surfing Day, and all things salt water, on Canada’s west and east coasts. ROXY, in partnership with East Coast Surf School, Surfing Association of Nova Scotia, Tofino Paddle Surf and Surfrider Foundation Pacific Rim gathered together to host a beach cleanup and free surf lessons and surf contest simultaneously at Cox Bay, Tofino, BC and Lawrencetown Beach, Lawrencetown, NS. The bi-coastal event tied together the two epicenters of Canadian surf culture and joined a global roster of events intended to celebrate the sport of surfing and the sustainability of ocean resources.
