Bruhwiler Kids Classic – First Annual! Tomorrow 9 am

~ A day at the beach, dedicated to all the mini hardcore Canadian surfers who brave the cold water because they were born to surf!~

Our family is stoked to announce the First Annual Bruhwiler Kids Classic,, September 20, 2014, with the support of sponsors, friends, and volunteers. The FREE, fun, and competitive event showcases the youngest Canadian surfers who brave the cold waves for their love of surfing.  They are committed to fun times and learning how to shred harder. Some of them just want to be in the water with their friends.  Many of them love to compete and thrive from the excitement of a day at the beach with friends, spectators, sponsors and their families!

The Beach Day will run as a one day event in Tofino, using a classic heat/judging panel format for the competitive divisions and a non judged ‘expression session’ event for the kids who are not interested in competing but still want to be part of the fun. Divisions include Open Expression Session (everyone wins!), 12 and Under Division, and a 16 and Under Division. It’s all about the kids and celebrating surfing in our community and in Canada. Our goal is to create a ‘beach festival’ feel the event.   All sorts of fun beach games and activities are planned for throughout the day.  The entire days activities list is being created by a team of the local kids and they are so excited about it!

The location of the event will be posted on the Facebook Event Page the day prior to the contest.  We will start at 9 am and wrap up by 3pm.  Preregistrations are very appreciated.  Beach registration will be available.

Look forward to seeing you on the beach Saturday, September 20! Come out to help your kids wiggle into their suits or cheer them on!

If you are interested in participating, sponsoring, or volunteering for the event in 2015 or would like more info, please feel free to contact us at [email protected] This is a free event and any support would be greatly appreciated.

Sponsorship can provide your company presence on the website/social media/event venue/media/posters/teeshirts/all promotions and mention during the day and awards ceremony, as well as on all media and print advertising for the contest.
Sponsorship ideas:
–monetary (for purchase of metals – everyone gets one!- and trophies for  1st to 4th place in the competitive divisions) and/or product to use in prize packages, or to give to each child that registers
– ‘beach festival’.  With some of the kids already involved, we’ve come up with some great games and beach activities and invite you to have your company organize, facilitate and present some of these games. If you would like ideas, let us know, or we can give you our list.  If you have a great idea of your own, that can work also.  The MC for the event will have the kids presenting the different games, contest divisions, and event sponsors.
