“The Paddler” takes viewers on an informative journey of action and adventure through the landscapes and communities of Clayoquot Sound and the Great Bear Rainforest. Bob Purdy is the “Standup PaddleSurfing Elder in Training” from “Paddle for the Planet”, and has been paddling his Standup PaddleSurfer every day since January 1, 2011 to “Change the Way we live on the Planet”, one paddle at a time. He is also founder of “World Paddle for the Planet Day”, a global initiative to send a “Wave of Change” around the World. The movie features Tofino locals: artist Roy Henry Vickers, surfer and paddler extraordinaire Catherine Bruhwiler, and veteran whale watcher John Forde.
